Accident Date & Date of Injury fields

When Auto Accident (At Fault), Auto Accident (No Fault), Employment Injury, or Other Accident is chosen as the Related Cause in the patient’s case, the Accident Date field appears. Complete this field accurately to ensure proper transmission to WebPT Billing or Therabill. 

Note: This feature is only available to Members with Therabill or WebPT Billing.

Adding Accident Date

  1. While in the Patient Info tab in WebPT, scroll down to the Cases tab and select Add Case to open a new case, or click the Edit icon to edit an existing case.
  2. Select the Related Cause drop-down menu and select one of the following accident types: Auto Accident (At Fault), Auto Accident (No Fault), Employment Injury, or Other Accident.
  3. Enter the Accident Date (MM/DD/YYYY) or select a date using the calendar drop-down menu.
  4. If the Related Cause is Auto Accident (At Fault) or Auto Accident (No Fault), use the drop-down menu to enter the Accident State.
  5. Billing Solutions: Therabill and WebPT Billing pull the Accident Date from the patient’s case, not the documentation. 
  6. Click Save Patient to save your selections.

SOAP 1.0: Injury/Onset Date/Change of Status Date

  1. On the Initial Examination, use the date menus to enter the Injury/Onset Date/Change of Status Date.
  2. Once the note is finalized, the PDF will display the Injury/Onset/Change of Status Date in the note header.

SOAP 2.0: Date of Injury/Onset 

  1. On the Initial Evaluation, the Date of Injury/Onset field will automatically pre-populate with the Accident Date from the Patient’s Chart.
  2. If the Date of Injury is updated on the Initial Evaluation, the Accident Date will be updated in the Patient’s Case and will carry forward to all other notes.

    Important: If the Date of Injury is updated in the Progress Note, you will need to addend the Initial Evaluation to change the DOI in the patient’s case.
  3. Once the note is finalized, the PDF will display the Date of Injury/Onset in the note header and the Subjective section.

Billing Solutions

Therabill

The accident information entered in the case will flow over to the Advanced tab of the patient’s chart in Therabill.

WebPT Billing

The accident information entered in the case will flow over to the Case Information section of the patient’s chart in WebPT Billing.
