Finger (FA-F9) Modifiers

Anatomical modifiers FA – F9 identify the finger on which a procedure or service was performed in a single session. These modifiers can be used with diagnostic, as well as therapeutic services. Finger modifiers are only available for certain geographical regions.

Enable Finger Modifiers

To use, the modifier must be turned on in the Company Fee Schedule. Follow the steps below to complete the setup process.

1. In the upper right corner of the app, click the clinic name, and then select Company Fee Schedule from the drop-down menu.
2. Under the Modifiers section, click the Active checkmark for the FA-F9 Finger Modifiers.
3. Click the Save button to apply.
4. This will make the FA-F9 modifier option available in the billing section of the SOAP note. The applicable CPT codes in the Splints/Orthotics grouping will expand when selected to show all available thumb and digit options for both left and right hands as shown below.
